When to consider
Teen therapy is helpful when your teen is dealing with stress from school, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, peer pressure, conflict with family, or difficulties adjusting to new experiences. It can also help teens work through trauma or big life transitions.

Modalities used
CBT (for managing negative thoughts), DBT skills (for emotion regulation and distress tolerance), supportive talk therapy, and EMDR (if trauma processing is needed). Therapy often combines skill-building with open, judgment-free conversation.

Session length & frequency
Sessions are 50 minutes, once a week or bi-weekly. Parents may be included in some sessions to support communication and progress.

Benefits
Teens gain confidence, coping tools, and emotional resilience. Therapy helps them build stronger self-awareness, healthier relationships, and practical strategies for managing stress both in and out of school.
